There’s been massive praise on social media for President Donald Trump who managed to bypass an all out war between Turkey and Kurdish forces and gaining a ceasefire in the process.

US President Donald Trump has managed to force a ceasefire between Turkey and Kurdish forces in Syria after sending his Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on a diplomatic mission of peace to Ankara.

President Trump celebrated his success tweeting

“This is a great day for civilization. I am proud of the United States for sticking by me in following a necessary, but somewhat unconventional, path. People have been trying to make this “Deal” for many years. Millions of lives will be saved. Congratulations to ALL!”

The ceasefire between Turkish forces and their jihadi allies and the Kurdish forces in Syria will initially last 120 hours according to Vice President Pence but there are hopes that with continued intense diplomatic manoeuvres it could become indefinite.

VP Pence added that as part of the ceasefire both the US and Turkey agreed to continue to combat group of Islamic State loyalists still at large in Syria.

The invasion was launched by Turkey in order to create a “safe zone” along their border with Syria and to drive out Kurdish forces whom they consider terrorists.

President Trump had announced that he was withdrawing US troops from the country and was pushing forward with his agenda to end “stupid, endless wars” before calling US military intervention in the Middle East the country’s biggest mistake.

In making his announcement President Trump lamented about the most “difficult” part of his job which is writing letters to the mothers, fathers and families of dead soldiers and seeing their flagged draped coffins returned home.
