Match go ahead: GAA agree to host Liam Miller tribute match at Pairc Ui Chaoimh

Organisers of the Liam Miller tribute match have welcomed the GAA’s decision to host the event at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

The decision comes after the GAA Central Council agreed to host the match at the 45,000 capacity stadium in September.

It is understood the emergency council agreed to hosting the event which will a former Celtic/Republic of Ireland XI take on a former Manchester United XI.

The event will also see a charity GAA match held on the same day and all the proceeds will go to Miller’s family.

In an announcement a organisers said they welcomed the decision saying common sense had prevailed, they also thanked the GAA for their support and the current demand tickets show that there is an overwhelming support from fans to honour Liam Miller and his family.
