The Sinn Fein leader has criticised the Government for its handling over the Covid-19 pandemic and their treatment of young people in particular.
Speaking about the latest restrictions surrounding indoor dining, McDonald said the Government was effectively treating the young people of Ireland as a nuisance and a problem throughout the entire pandemic.
McDonald also said that the Government’s attitude was completely dismissive and they see young people as nothing but a threat.
The Sinn Fein leader went on to state that young people across the country have been essentially locked up in their rooms doing zoom calls and have been deprived of enjoying college life and all of social aspects that go with it.
She added that young people have also been effectively told to wait until the pubs reopen as they are immediately told to get off the streets despite the message of having an outdoor summer.
