McEntee says “Dublin is safe” yet GardaĆ made over 580 arrests in Dublin last week alone over public safety concerns

GardaĆ across Dublin have made more than 580 arrests, carried out more than 815 searches and carried out 1,450 patrols in the last seven days, police said in a statement on Tuesday, reports Breaking News.

This includes 103 drug-related arrests, as well as 816 searches by detectives.

There were 258 road safety checkpoints, including 38 drunk driving arrests.

GardaĆ provided support to 416 victims of domestic violence in the Dublin area.

Justice Minister Helen McEntee praised the increase in arrests and high-visibility patrols in city centres.

“The extra €10m provided by Government supports increased high visibility policing, in addition to our new GardaĆ on the beat in the capital,” she posted on X/Twitter, reports Breaking News.
