Meath County Councillor causes outrage amongst dog lovers after expressing his support for signs restricting certain breeds of dogs

A Meath County Councillor has caused outrage amongst local dog lovers after he took to social media to write a scandalous post expressing his support for a new ruling that has seen signs posted throughout the county outlining details for keeping certain breeds of dog.

The sign which has received support from Alan Tobin has caused backlash from dog owners, reportedly shows the images of 10 different breeds of dogs, including Rottweilers and German Shepherds along with certain guidelines which state that owners of any of the listed dogs would have to leash and muzzle their pet, they would also be forced to put a collar on their dog stating it’s name and home address.

However Tobin’s support was met with a stern response with many questioning the Councillors motives for writing such a post after the Ashbourne native wrote: “It still amazes me that some people think these dogs are ideal family pets.”

Some angry users have since responded to Tobin’s comment saying that the introducing a ludicrous ruling is against animal rights, whilst others responded that not all breeds of dogs on the list are vicious.
