A memorial mass will be celebrated in Cork today, to mark the first anniversary of the young student who was brutally murdered in Glasgow one year ago today.

The service will commence at 7:30pm at the Church of St. Michael the Archangel, in Analeentha, Mourneabbey. Fr. Joe O’Keeffe will lead the special mass.

24-year-old Karen Buckley was on a night out in Glasgow when she went missing. Her body was found at a nearby farm a few days later. 22-year-old Alexander Pacteau was convicted of the murder and sentenced to life in prison. He’s currently serving his time in the Shotts Prison detention facility in Scotland.
