MEP candidate Michael O’Dowd makes formal complaint to gardai over aborted baby due to misdiagnosis in Holles St

Michael O’Dowd, the MEP candidate for Renua in Midlands Northwest has come out hard this week against the diabolical misdiagnosis of an unborn baby in Holles St which led to the baby getting aborted.

Michael O’Dowd has made a formal complaint to the gardai over the misdiagnosis. He told The Liberal:
“The grounds for the complaint are that there is a prime facie case that an offence has been committed. The conditions under Section 11 of the Health (Termination of Pregnancy Act) 2018 were not complied with. In particular that two medical practitioners did not examine the Mother.”

“Also that the decision was not made in good faith which requires the medics to adhere to best practice in coming to their decision to terminate. They clearly should have waited for a confirmation diagnostic test. They did not do so, what are the reasons such a rushed decision was made? ”

“The Gardai need to act swiftly to secure all evidence in this case including case files . The hospital has already misled the public in claiming that a RCOG review was in train when it clearly was not. ”

“On a separate note whoever signed off on that misleading statement needs to be relieved of their duties and reassigned if public confidence in the NMH is to be restored.”
