Met Eireann has confirmed that last May was the warmest month in 15 years.
According to the national forecaster, the mean temperature throughout May was 13.5C, which is 1.5C above the average since 2008.
High pressure continues to dominate weather patterns, with temperatures expected to reach 27C and beyond.
