Met Eireann is forecasting snow for some parts of the country this weekend.
According to the national forecaster, the weather will remain very cold throughout the week, with daytime temperatures never reaching double digits, and sinking to 0C or just below during the night.
Saturday is forecast to be a rather wet day, with some bright spells and sleet showers possible over high ground in northern areas.
Sunday meanwhile will start off dry, but rain will develop from the west.
