Met Eireann is forecasting unusually mild conditions (for the time of year) in the latter part of this week, with temperatures reaching 15-16C at times.
According to the national forecaster, weather patterns will remain rather changeable over the next few days, with cooler temperatures predicted for today, but a noticeable rise on Wednesday.
Early indications point to a cold but mostly dry weekend, with just some scattered showers across the northwest.
