Met Eireann is warning motorists to be careful on the roads today, as adverse weather conditions are expected for the next few hours.
Heavy showers of rain and hail and isolated thunderstorms will cause hazardous driving conditions across many areas, particularly around the midlands and west of the country.
Up to 60mm of rain is forecast to fall in some places.
