Met Éireann extend weather warnings




WindyCityMet Éireann have extended their weather warnings putting in place an orange alert for Donegal, Mayo and Galway, where strong blustery winds are expected coming in from the south west with gusts of up to 100 kilometres an hour.

A yellow alert is in place for Wexford, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Waterford with gusts of up to 85 kilometres an hour.

Both warnings are in place until 6am Sunday morning.

For the rest of the country, expect a mainly dry yet windy day with a good deal of cloud and some sunny intervals. Towards the evening the country will expect light rain or drizzle with highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees.

Strong winds continuing tonight and staying mild with lowest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees. Some rain and drizzle affecting Connacht, Ulster and North Munster but mainly dry elsewhere.
