
With temperatures predicted to plummet to about -3 Celsius in some areas, a Status Yellow warning for ice and low temperatures is in force nationwide, reports RTE.
In addition to warning that there may be some travel disruption, Met Éireann stated it will be extremely cold with widespread frost and ice patches, which might result in dangerous conditions on roads and pathways.
The warning will remain in effect until tomorrow at 10 a.m.
A few wintry showers may continue to creep into northern areas tomorrow, and frost and ice may remain all day in sheltered areas, according to the forecaster, but generally the day will be dry, reports RTE.
Later in the evening, though, heavy rain—with sleet in some areas—will spread into west and southwest regions.
A secondary Status Yellow low temperature and ice warning will be in force from 8 p.m. tomorrow until 10 a.m. on Thursday morning, with temperatures expected to plummet to about -3 c, reports RTE.
In addition, counties Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone, and Derry are under a yellow snow and ice warning that will last until 10 a.m. tomorrow.
Travel conditions will be challenging due to heavy showers and slippery roads, according to the UK Met Office, reports RTE.
