Met Eireann issue yellow status weather warning for five counties as high winds are expected throughout the day

The national forecaster Met Eireann has once again issued another yellow status wind warning for five counties on Thursday.

It is understood the latest warning comes as the counties of Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Clare and Derry will experience southerly 55-65 km/hr winds with gusts ranging from 90 to 100 km/hr.

The latest warning which follows Wednesday’s yellow status rainfall warning, will remain in place until 2pm on Friday 29 September.

Even though the West of the country is expected to receive a battering there waa some good news for those living in other areas as Met Eireann revealed that the rest of the country will experience sunny spells and light to moderate winds throughout the day.

However the national forecaster did say there will be a change in the weather late on Thursday evening as persistent heavy showers of rain is expected as a band of rain will move in from the West.
