Met Eireann has issued a dire long-range forecast for August, predicting that rainy and unsettled conditions will persist for most of the month.

According to the national forecaster, Ireland will see no more summer weather for the foreseeable future, with low pressure dominating weather patterns, meaning below average temperatures and high rainfall.

Meanwhile, the current weekend will bring more of the same, with very wet conditions and temperatures reaching 20C at best.
