Met Eireann issues grim weather forecast for the coming week, as temperatures plummet once again

Met Eireann has issued a grim weather forecast for the coming week, as temperatures plummet once again.

Monday will remain relatively dry, but cloud cover will increase throughout the day, leading to outbreaks of rain in the afternoon and evening.

The rain will become widespread by Monday night, and Tuesday is expected to be a very wet and miserable day, with persistent, heavy rain, which might lead to localized flooding.

Temperatures are forecast to plummet by Tuesday night, reaching lows of 0C.

Wednesday is expected to be cold and showery, with top temperatures of 7C-8C.

Thursday and Friday will remain cold, with wintry showers likely on both days, and freezing nights to go along.
