Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow warning for eight counties ahead of miserable conditions.
The warning, which covers the whole of Connacht plus counties Cavan, Donegal, and Longford, will kick in at 10pm tonight and remain in effect until 8am tomorrow.
According to the national forecaster, many areas around these counties will experience heavy rain overnight.
