The national forecaster has issued a Status Yellow warning for severe thunderstorms affecting Munster.
The warning, which will come into effect at 3pm and expire at midnight, comes amidst rising temperatures of up to 26C today.
Met Eireann says that storm activity is likely to last into the weekend.
