Met Eireann issues Status Yellow weather warnings as heavy rain and strong winds approach





The national forecaster has issued two Status Yellow weather warnings, as heavy rain and strong winds are set to lash the country today.

The first warning, covering Munster, Connacht, and Donegal, will come into effect at 1pm today, and will remain in place until 4am on Tuesday.

A second warning, covering Leinster, Cavan, and Monaghan will come into effect at 7pm today, and will remain in effect until 9am on Tuesday.

Temperatures will remain relatively mild, reaching 12C in places.
