Met Eireann issues two Status Yellow weather warnings due to strong winds and heavy rain over the next 24 hours




The national forecaster has issued two Status Yellow weather warnings due to strong winds and heavy rain expected over the next 24 hours.

A rainfall warning will kick in at 4am for counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary, and Waterford. This warning will remain in place until 7pm on Wednesday.

The wind warning covers the entire country as winds of up to 110km/h are expected to hit in the next few hours.

This second warning will kick in at 12pm on Wednesday and end at midnight on Thursday.
