Met Eireann has issued an urgent warning for low temperatures for the entire country, as the thermometer might sink to -7C overnight.
The warning mentions severe frost and possible freezing fog in many areas, which might lead to hazardous driving conditions.
Temperatures will rise by Saturday morning, and the weekend is expected to be relatively warmer.
