Met Eireann is today issuing an urgent new warning about the possibility of a major weather event later this month.
According to the national forecaster, the entire country might be covered in snow by next week, with February 21 quoted as the most likely date for the disaster.
Met Eireann has stressed that this is a long-range forecast that may not come to pass, or not be as severe as predicted.
