Met Eireann has issued an urgent Status Yellow warning for thunderstorms and rain affecting 15 counties.
The warning, which covers counties Cavan, Monaghan, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary, Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Galway, and Roscommon, will remain in place until 10pm tonight.
According to the national forecaster, many areas around these counties will experience torrential rain at times, which may lead to localized flooding and hazardous driving conditions.
