Met Eireann has issued an urgent thunderstorm weather warning affecting 21 counties.
The warning, which covers all of Leinster and Munster plus counties Cavan, Donegal, and Monaghan, will kick in at 1pm and remain in effect until 10pm.
According to the national forecaster, there will be scattered thunderstorms throughout many areas in those counties, with heavy showers expected in western areas.
The overall outlook is for very unsettled weather lasting into the weekend.
