Met Eireann has issued an urgent warning for thunderstorms affecting 24 counties.
The warning, which covers the whole of Connacht plus counties Cavan, Clare, Donegal, Kildare, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Tipperary, and Westmeath, will remain in place until 9pm.
According to the national forecaster, many areas around these counties will be affected by thunderstorms and torrential rain at times.
