Met Eireann has just issued an urgent weather warning for seven counties as stormy conditions arrive.
The Status Yellow alert, which covers counties Cavan, Monaghan, Longford, Louth, Meath, Westmeath, and Offaly, is now in effect.
According to the national forecaster, many areas of these counties will see heavy rain and/or thunderstorms, which might lead to localized flooding and hazardous driving conditions.
