Met Eireann have issued a yellow status snow and ice warning for seven counties.
The warning which will apply to counties Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo, will remain in place until 12pm on Saturday.
Met Eireann say falls of hail, sleet and snow are expected overnight and into the morning.
They also say icy conditions are expected which will make driving conditions hazardous.
