Met Eireann predicts a big change in the weather on Sunday, with temperatures of -2C and the possibility of snow

The national forecaster is predicting a big change in the weather tomorrow, as temperatures drop to -2C, with strong possibility of snowfalls on Monday.

Today, Saturday, will remain largely dry, with just some isolated light showers and temperatures of up to 9C.

A band of rain will arrive by evening though, leading into a very wet Saturday night.

The rain will clear by Sunday morning, and it will turn much colder around the country, with maximum temperatures of 5C-7C.

The beginning of the working week is forecast to be rather blustery and miserable, with widespread frost across many areas and wintry showers of sleet or snow.
