Temperatures may climb to as high as 21C in some areas of Ireland over the weekend, according to Met Éireann.
In its outlook, the national meteorological service said conditions “will continue mainly dry and settled as high pressure dominates” and noted that sunny intervals are set to persist into next week, reports RTE.
Met Éireann said today is expected to be largely dry with plenty of sunshine for most regions, although the west and southwest will see more cloud.
However, it added that a few showers are likely to form in Munster this evening, with some becoming heavy, reports RTE.
Top temperatures will range from 14C to 20C, with the warmest conditions in the west.
Some showers will track northwards over Leinster and Ulster tomorrow morning, but they are expected to clear by midday, reports RTE.
Tomorrow will be mostly dry, featuring a mix of cloud and sunny periods.
Maximum temperatures will range from 13C to 16C across the western half of the country, and from 17C to 21C in the east, reports RTE.

Met Éireann said Sunday is also expected to remain largely dry, with a fair share of cloud and occasional sunshine.
It said a few showers could develop in Leinster and Ulster later in the day, with temperatures on Sunday ranging between 14C and 18C, reports RTE.
Last year, Athenry in Co Galway recorded the highest April temperature on record, reaching 25.9C on 30 April.
Temperatures are expected to be 2C or 3C above average, a meteorologist said, reports RTE.
Met Éireann meteorologist Matthew Martin said the higher temperatures are “not too unusual” for this time of year, though he noted they are forecast to be around 2C to 3C above normal over the coming week.
“It is not going to be all clear for the weekend, we do have some showers moving up, particularly in the south and west tonight, reports RTE.
“Otherwise, the weekend is looking mostly dry, a mix of cloud and sunny spells with temperatures getting up to between 15 and 21C,” he said, reports RTE.
Speaking on RTÉ’s Today with David McCullagh, he said there remains considerable uncertainty in the forecast from around Thursday into the May bank holiday period.
However, Mr Martin added that, for now, the fine weather is expected to continue until midweek or possibly later next week, reports RTE.
“There is certainly still some hope that it’ll hang on through the bank holiday weekend,” he said, reports RTE.
