Met Eireann is saying that the dull and wet weather will continue today, but things will begin to change for the better tomorrow.
According to the national forecaster, drier conditions will develop throughout the day today, with just well scattered showers across some areas.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, will be mostly dry, but eastern areas are likely to see some rain. Temperatures will rise to 16-17C.
Wednesday is expected to start off cloudy, with brighter conditions developing by the afternoon, and temperatures rising to 18C or just above.
Thursday and Friday are expected to see mixed conditions, with showers and sunny spells, but current indications point to a weekend of fine weather, with temperatures likely to reach 20C.
