Met Eireann says that temperatures topping 20C look likely to return for one final time this year early in October.
According to the national forecaster, an ‘anomalous’ area of high pressure will develop between October 3 and October 9, leading to settled and very mild weather for the time of year in Ireland.
In the meantime however, the weather is expected to remain rather unsettled over the next few days, with damp conditions and daytime temperatures reaching 14-15C at best, dropping dramatically at night.
