Met Eireann is this morning saying that the weather will be very unsettled this week, but better conditions might arrive later this month.
According to the national forecaster, the next few days will see periods of rain mixed with brief sunny spells, and temperatures reaching 20C at times.
The outlook for the weekend remains uncertain, but it looks like a rather wet Saturday and Sunday, with relatively mild temperatures reaching 17-18C.
Met Eireann have also said that things might brighten up towards the end of the month, but this also remains uncertain at this point.
