Ireland is getting its first taste of winter 2020 this week, as the national forecaster is warning of a period of miserable weather just ahead.
Gale force winds, heavy rain, and hail showers are forecast for the next three days.
Today, Monday, will remain relatively mild for the time of year, with highs of 17C and some sunny spells during the afternoon.
Tuesday will start off dry and bright, but cloud cover will increase as the day goes on, with rain coming in from the west by the evening.
The following three days are expected to be rather wretched, weather-wise, with heavy rain, strong winds, and thundery hail showers predicted.
The overall outlook is for very unsettled weather to remain well into the weekend.
