The national forecaster is warning of impending heavy rain and strong winds during the coming days, with temperatures above average for the time of year.
The weather this weekend will remain wet and dull, with outbreaks of showers at times.
Things will take a turn for the worse on Sunday evening as rain and wind become heavier and more persistent, particularly across southern areas.
Monday morning is expected to be rather miserable, with wet and windy conditions predominant across most of the country.
A similar weather pattern will remain until Thursday at least. Met Eireann says that conditions might improve towards the end of the week and into the weekend.
