Met Eireann is warning of a bitterly cold night ahead, with lows of -7C possible.
The national forecaster is forecasting showers of hail, sleet, or even snow at times during late evening and throughout the night.
Coldest temperatures are expected across Connacht and Ulster.
The outlook is for very cold but mostly dry and bright weather to last until Friday at least.
