Met Eireann is this afternoon warning of a cold spell as a polar air mass approaches Ireland.
According to the national forecaster, there will be a noticeable drop in temperatures next week, with daytime temperatures remaining in single digits.
The rest of the current week is expected to be milder, with temperatures reaching 14C at times, with frequent outbreaks of rain.
