Met Eireann is warning of extremely wet and windy conditions throughout the weekend, with a Status Yellow warning now in effect for two provinces and six other counties.
The warning, which covers all of Munster and Connacht, plus counties Laois, Offaly, Kildare, Cavan, Donegal, and Westmeath, will remain in effect until 6pm this evening.
According to Met Eireann, many areas will experience heavy rain and strong winds throughout the day.
