Met Eireann is today warning of freezing temperatures arriving by Sunday evening, with a cold spell expected over the coming week.

According to the national forecaster, Sunday’s weather will be cold and blustery, with some sunny spells at times and a few showers in between. Temperatures are not likely to reach double digits throughout the day.

The temperatures are set to plummet by Sunday night, with widespread frost likely by dawn.

Monday is forecast to be a cold, crisp day with temperatures again remaining in single digits.
