The national forecaster is warning of the strong possibility of flooding today, due to heavy rain falling on already saturated ground across many areas.
A Status Yellow warning is in place for the entire province of Connacht, plus counties Longford, Donegal, Clare, and Kerry. The warning will remain in place until 4am tonight.
Localized flooding is likely as the ground is already sodden following heavy rain over the past few days.
