Met Eireann is warning of sub-zero temperatures overnight, with frost and icy patches expected by dawn.
According to the national forecaster, the thermometer will sink to -2C or -3C in some areas soon after dark this evening.
The cold snap will be short lived, however, as temperatures will reach double digits by Monday afternoon.
The outlook for the coming week is for unsettled weather to continue, with strong winds and frequent showers, though temperatures will climb to 16C at times.
