Met Eireann is this evening warning of the possibility of heavy snow next week, though the forecast remains uncertain.
According to the national forecaster, the weather will turn even colder from Sunday, with freezing conditions remaining for most of next week.
Southern areas would likely see the worst of the snow falls, if it indeed the prediction comes to pass.
