Met Eireann is today warning of very heavy rain and cold temperatures later this week, with Thursday and Friday being especially bad days.
According to the national forecaster, western counties will likely see the worst of it as stormy weather develops off Atlantic coasts.
The outlook for the weekend is not good, with very unsettled conditions throughout, but relatively mild temperatures of up to 14-15C.
