Met Eireann warns that today, Tuesday, will be the last day of the pleasant weather for a time, as Ireland will experience freezing temperatures and even snow over the coming days.

According to the national forecaster, temperatures will reach 16-17C this afternoon, with good sunny spells and little to no rain.

Conditions are set to take a marked turn for the worse by tomorrow, however, as colder air arrives from the north during the second half of the day, with temperatures dropping to single digits.

Thursday and Friday are forecast to be cold days, with top temperatures hovering around the 8-9C mark.

The only good news is that there will be little rain between now and Friday, though Met Eireann says that a band of heavy rain might cross the country by the weekend, though this is yet uncertain.
