The Met Office has issued an urgent thunderstorm warning amidst record hot temperatures for the month of September.
According to the agency, tomorrow, Saturday, is likely to be the hottest day of the year, with thermometers expected to mark 33C and beyond.
Yellow thunderstorm warnings are in place for Saturday, covering areas from eastern Wales and the northwest of England, through to East Anglia and Wiltshire.
