The Met Office is warning that temperatures might fall as low as -8C across some areas of Scotland this week, with heavy snow likely.

According to the agency, an Arctic chill will descend upon many areas of the UK this week, leading to subzero temperatures and very wintry conditions.

Thursday and Friday appear to be the worst day of the week, with lows of -7 or -8C, and even lower in parts.
