“Michaela deserves justice” – John McAreavey has offered a reward of €50,000 for information on Michaela’s murder

Michaela McAreavey is already 5 years dead and still no one has faced justice for her murder.

Her husband, John McAreavey, has stumped in a significant amount of money to entice people to come forward and finally do Michaela justice by putting the animals who murdered her behind bars.

John McAreavey made the offer of €50,000, or 2m Mauritian rupees at a news conference in the capital of Port Louis today as he’s there searching for new evidence and witnesses with his sister.

He has appealed for people to come forward with information about Michaela’s death in an effort to finally solve the horrific tragedy that befell her in January 2011.

John McAreavey said:
“Over the past six-and-a-half years our resolve to win justice for Michaela remains undiminished,” he said.

“We believe we have given the Mauritian authorities every chance to deliver on their very public promise that justice would be done.

“However, until this visit the reality falls far short of that and as the years have passed it appears that the unofficial policy has become one of ‘out of sight – out of mind.’

“But we have no intention of just slipping out of mind or sight. Michaela deserves justice and we intend to get it. We should not have needed to make this very painful return journey.

“Put quite bluntly, we have felt let down time and time again, and, indeed, feel betrayed by a process that has failed us and Michaela.”
