Recently appointed Taoiseach Micheal Martin has ‘promised’ that schools will reopen on Monday, after the mid-term break.
The Taoiseach added that the Government will send out ‘special school teams’ to ensure that schools remain safe environments.
Despite Mr. Martin’s promises, both Covid-19 and a looming industrial action by secondary school teachers threaten the schools’ reopening.
