Middle class Ireland has been decimated as lockdown sees people incur more debt per head in Ireland than any European country

The Irish government have not only imposed on the Irish people the longest and strictest lockdown but have also heaped more debt onto the heads of its citizenry than any other European country with its Orwellian shutdown of the economy and suspension of civil and human rights.

The European Commission released figures showing Ireland is set to incur a total government debt of €241.6 billion for 2021, an increase of 10% on 2020, a year which saw an unprecedented shrinking of the economy.

This means that every Irish citizen the state will have a debt €48,291 by the end of 2021, the higher than any other European Union member and the UK.

While the government continues to allow multinational corporations to operate, small Irish business owners who attempt to reopen rather than face bankruptcy are ruthlessly suppressed by the Gardai under orders from the political class and the Irish middle class looks destined for a massive shrinkage.
