Migrants are back in Dublin city centre and pitch tents along Dublin’s Grand Canal

Asylum seekers in Dublin have set up more than 40 tents along the Grand Canal, reports RTE.

The new tent camp has been set up between Huband Bridge and Mount Street Bridge.

The International Protection Office on Mount Street is fewer than 400 metres away from the location, reports RTE.

Applicants for international protection who were sleeping outside were provided with lodging after a significant number of tents surrounding the IPO were taken down on Wednesday.

To stop further tents from being set up, barriers were placed on the pathways surrounding the IPO and down Mount Street.

The men here said they want to spend overnight in the tents once more, reports RTE.
