The Easter holidays will begin mild and rainy, with temperatures reaching 11C in places and heavy rain spreading countrywide throughout the afternoon and evening.
The weather will take a turn for the worse tomorrow, Tuesday, as strong winds and heavy rain come in from the north and northwest. Cold air may turn some of these showers into hail.
Daytime temperatures will remain largely in single digits during the week, leading to a cold Easter weekend.
